Lotus Root & Lotus Seeds Pork Ribs Soup 双莲桂圆排骨汤-滋补,养心安神,益血益气



Nourishing and nutritious soup - Lotus Root & Lotus Seeds Pork Ribs Soup. This soup is good for replenishing "Qi", nourishing the blood, and strengthening the body's immune system.

You can cook the soup in a slow cooker, pressure cooker or just boil it over the stovetop. I cooked mine using the most time-saving method which is my trusty Ninja Foodi multi-cooker. Just gather the ingredients, throw them into the pot and let it do the cooking. Ingredients: (yield 2-3 servings)

350g Soup Bones, blanched 排骨/汤骨 350克

Some Sea Salt to taste 少许盐调味


(A)

350g Lotus Root (peeled and cut into chunks) 莲藕 350克(去皮,洗净,切块)

100g Fresh Lotus Seeds 鲜莲子 100克

Fresh Lotus Seeds 鲜莲子
If using dried lotus seeds, soak them in water to rehydrate before use.


5-6 Seedless Red Dates 去籽红枣 5-6粒

Hot Water (8 cups level Ninja Foodi Pot or 2L if using stove-top) 热水 2公升


(B)


Handful of Dried Longan 桂圆 适量

Handful of Wolfberries (optional) 枸杞 适量

Method:

1. Add (A) into Ninja Foodi's inner pot or your soup pot.
排骨/汤骨洗净,用滚水烫一烫,去掉血水。把排骨/汤骨和材料(A)放进汤锅里。



2. Close the pressure lid, and SEAL. Pressure cook for 20 minutes (NPR).
Note: PC 30 minutes if using dried lotus seeds.
高压煮20分钟,加入其余材料,煮10分钟即可。

3. Switch to Sear/ Saute mode, add ingredients (B) and salt to taste, and simmer for 10 minutes. If you're new to pressure-cooking soup, tap here to watch the cooking video tutorial.  

If you do not have a pressure cooker, you can boil the soup over the stovetop, cook with high heat for 30 minutes. Reset to low heat and cook for another 70 minutes. Add ingredient (B) and cook another 10-15 minutes. 
没高压锅可以开大火煮30分钟,转小火煮70分钟。 加入(B) ,继续煮10-15分钟即可。
